Dr. Tushar Mehta

Dr. Tushar Mehta practices Emergency Medicine in the Toronto area, and partic-ipates in international health projects, formerly in rural India and Haiti, and now works closely with a primary and secondary school in Haiti
(www.haiticommunityschool.org). He has worked with other NGOs including Sea Shepherd’s Operation Zero Tolerance. Along with a small team, Dr. Mehta co-founded Plant Based Data, a free database which organizes academic institu-tional literature regarding plant-based diet health, environment, food security, and zoonotic pandemic risk. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Mehta has given many lectures and seminars at JAINA, YJA and local Jain events. Along with a team, he is co-founder off www.towardsahimsa.com (now called IMJM Canada) and has volunteered with Jain/Secular youth camps, promoting Ahimsa philosophy in modernity, emphasizing the interconnectedness of humans, animals, and all life. Dr. Mehta has been a speaker at many past JAINA and YJA conventions.
