Dr. Shailendra Palvia

Dr. Shailendra C. Palvia is Professor Emeritus of MIS at Long Island University (LIU) Post, where he also served as Director of the MIS program (1997–2004). He holds a Ph.D. and MBA from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi. An accomplished scholar, he has pub-lished over 150 refereed articles with 4,500 citations. He was Founding Editor of the Journal of IT Case and Application Research and led eleven international smart-sourcing conferences. Twice nominated for LIU’s Lifetime Scholarly Achievement Award, he was a Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Scholar at IIM Ahmedabad. A devout follower of Jainism, in 2023, he and his wife donated
$250,000 to establish a Jain Studies Professorship at GCSU. He also organizes Ahimsa Internship Youth Camps promoting Jain values among young people
