Hitesh Doshi

One with the Sun Mr. Doshi is the Chairman and Managing Director of Waaree Energies, India’s largest solar module manufacturer with a 12 gigawatt capaci-ty and operations in over 65 countries. He began his entrepreneurial journey in 1985 with just 5,000 rupees, building Waaree into a global leader in renewable energy. Raised in a small village in Maharashtra, Mr. Doshi overcame early hardships, bicycling to school and funding his education through trading ven-tures. He founded Waaree Instruments in 1989 and expanded into solar manu-facturing after a pivotal visit to a German trade show in 2007. In May 2025, Waaree Energies raised $514 million in an IPO to fund a 6 gigawatt solar cell manufacturing plant in Odisha, reinforcing Mr. Doshi’s long-term vision for clean energy innovation and infrastructure in India
